Adam Riedi provides a Scotland wide arboricultural consultancy and advisory service with offices based in the central belt and the Scottish Highlands. ​

With over 25 years in business, we have successfully built a strong reputation within the industry providing professional advice and formal reports in all areas concerning the management of amenity and heritage trees.​

Our aim is to assist tree owners in fulfilling their legal responsibilities for trees whilst protecting the many ecological and landscape benefits that trees confer.​

About

Adam Riedi holds the Arboricultural Association Technicians Certificate and the LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection Certificate. He has been working in the industry since 1995 as both as a contracting and consulting arborist and spent 11 years as a professional tree climber.

​

He has travelled throughout Europe to visit iconic specimen trees and ancient woodland and to exchange ideas with other tree professionals in Latvia, Holland, France, Spain, Germany and Russia.

​

Mr Riedi was the Secretary of the Scottish Branch of the Arboricultural Association from 2012 to 2014 where his role included the organisation of seminars and events. In 2011 he attended a visual tree assessment elite field training course held in Germany with Professor Claus Mattheck.

 

In May 2010 he chaired a seminar given by world-leading tree expert Professor Claus Mattheck (Institute of Materials Research, Karlsruhe University, Germany). He has demonstrated modern ultra-sound decay detection techniques at a number of events and colleges.

 

Between 2016-2019. Mr Riedi became the co-ordinator of The Ancient Tree Forum in Scotland where his main role was to deliver a series of seminars on understanding and managing veteran trees including courses at Scone Palace and the Royal Botanics Gardens Edinburgh.

 

In 2019 and 2024 he appeared in BBC television (Heavenly Gardens-BBC 2 with Arit Anderson) and radio programs (Out of Doors-BBC Scotland with Rachel Stewart) discussing the importance of veteran and ancient trees.
